The Road to Recovery for Our Community Heroes

      Mission Statement

We provide peer-to-peer support and guidance to sustain strong recoveries in our community heroes. We offer veterans support and service, hope, and advocacy for heroes wanting to recover, so we can build resilience and thrive in our communities.

      Vision

Heroes Comfort was organized to address the stigma surrounding PTSD and community heroes. Heroes Comfort provides support for individuals working as first responders, 9-1-1 dispatchers, correctional officers, ER and critical care nurses, veterans, and those who work or respond to critical incidents where exposure to external psychological trauma may be present.

      Peer Support

Peer support workers are successful in the recovery process and can help others experiencing situations similar to theirs. Through shared understanding, respect, and mutual empowerment, peer support workers help their peers become and stay engaged in the recovery process. Peer support services can effectively extend treatment beyond the clinical setting and into the everyday environment of those seeking a successful, sustained recovery process.

      Therapy Sessions

Participants in the Heroes Comfort program are eligible to receive specially discounted or even free sessions for mental health assistance from a licensed counselor. Care for concerns such as depression, anxiety, relationship, and family issues are available.  Contact us for more information, while we continue to work on our database of providers that have teamed up with us.

      Spiritual Support

Heroes Comfort is a Christian-based organization, which means our roots are grounded in love and healing.  We recognize that there are many different faiths out there.  Because of our love of our brothers and sisters in life, we also provide spiritual help for other believers.  This organization is NOT closed to those without a faith or religion, it's just an option for those that do.  We are here for EVERYONE.

      Support

HEROES COMFORT is a fully operational peer support survival group. We are dedicated to the men and women who put on the uniforms of first responders, correctional officers, 9-1-1 dispatchers, nurses, and veterans. Without our heroes, society would look much different – chaos, massive crime, and people suffering.

While we are up and running, it is only because of generous donations from board members, which cannot be sustained.

As a recognized 501C3 non-profit organization, we have expenses that are NOT related to the compensation of any board members that we are starting to dip into personal accounts to pay for things like the 800 support line, HIPPA compliant emails, etc.

Is there any way you could spare a donation until we get the funding through grants and private entities that have promised us some kind of sponsorship?  Check your heart and see what it is calling you to do.

If you would like to donate, please visit the PayPal link below. Thank you in advance from all of us volunteers and the communities of people we serve. God bless!
